How long have you been working at Paddls?
I started at Paddls at the end of June 2018, so a little over a year.
What did you do for this? From hospitality
I attended the Hotel Management School and part of my graduation was writing a thesis. I did that for the sales department of a hotel chain. After graduating, I continued working there in a field sales function. I was a B2B Sales Executive for about 3 years.
Why did you switch to Paddls?
The industry was fun, but fairly traditional with little innovation. Furthermore, hotels have become a kind of commodity for the business world, so you are seen less as a serious discussion partner. This is a natural consequence due to the transformation of the purchasing process, but it made the challenge less and less for me. Then I started thinking about what I wanted to do to develop myself further. I really liked and still like sales. I looked at an industry that I had an affinity with, which was IT. Only I had no IT experience. Through an agency I then came across a vacancy from Paddls for a trajectory towards an internal sales role. After completing this trajectory, if it was satisfactory on both sides, you would start working on location at an IT client. I was immediately enthusiastic. It seemed like a great opportunity to enter IT as a layman.
How has your growth path at Paddls been?
What exactly does your role at SAP entail? From hospitality
At SAP I am part of the Finance & Risk team. This means that we are responsible for all SAP solutions within the Finance domain. I follow up leads that are generated from paraguay phone number library marketing campaigns. I convert these into opportunities for Sales. Furthermore, I execute my own outbound campaigns. For example ‘VITO letter’ campaigns, social selling campaigns, events or webinars. I devise them, in consultation, work them out and take care of the execution. Think of creating and sending letters, calling, invitation processes and follow-up.
What do you like most about your job?
That every day is different, because it is so developing a business idea: your path to your own business big and international. Yet it is also, if you look at the team, very friendly, small and familiar. The nice thing is that if it works out and you get a nice opportunity, you really get the appreciation of the team. That you have contributed to improving specific processes at the customer. I think that is really cool!
What did the transition from hotel to Paddls bring you? From hospitality
What makes working at Paddls different from other companies?
What I like about Paddls is the relaxed atmosphere, the Friday afternoon drinks, outings and short lines. Paddls is personal, young in organization and in spirit. The germany business directory colleagues are fun. I was guided well the first months, which allowed me to quickly pick up the things at SAP and quickly become successful. What helped me a lot is that there were already a few Paddls colleagues at SAP. Even though I didn’t know them yet, they helped me a lot. So the Paddls feeling was also there at SAP.
What would you say to people considering applying here?
It is important that you really have a good goal in mind and are willing to work hard for it. Then you will also see that you get the support from Paddls to make things possible for your own learning path.
